Game "Released", Updates... When?


Hello ladies and gentlebeans!

If you play the game as it is right now... it is a little sparse. It has the basics of crafting, digging and building but not much to do with those things, and they don't interplay much... or at all!

This will change soon.

I am working on a patch for the game to fix the item dupe bug, but more importantly tie up a bunch of the loose threads I had to drop in order to ship something workable for the jam, and as soon as judging ends (or shortly before if I make it available in parallel) I will be updating the game.

This will include such thrilling features as:

  • Dropping items.
  • A building system that isn't hard-coded, adding in the existing but non-buildable stone walls and T and X pieces, and adding a campfire/torches.
  • Addition of the existing but unused ores to world generation
  • Addition of dropped stone and ore to mining, and harvesting ground plants that aren't trees
  • A reworked behind the scenes system that means trees won't magically regenerate out of nowhere when you leave and come back. Should also allow basic planting and harvesting over time. Hopefully anyway.

I've got plenty more planned, but for now that's what I'm doing to make the game workable. I also want to implement a feature I had to drop for the game jam, that is standing next to certain things, like a campfire, will add different recipies to your crafting menu, but we will see.

After all this is something of a passion project outside of regular old fashioned work hours (that are sadly not for this) but I want to keep working on this game and make something a little bit special.
